The Blank Page

Today my teacher assigned me a paper
That's all it was, just one little paper
The topic was about what sports we play
I love to play football everyday
So I sat there and thought
About what I wrote naught
While also thinking about what I should say

Nature

Forests of green, Forests of green
The most beautiful things I have ever seen
Brambles of thorns, Brambles of thorns
Ugly and sharp and pointy like horns
Autumn leaves of red, Autumn leaves of red
Soft and comfy and plump like a bed
Nature galore, Nature galore
This is what I've been wishing for

Loved

Hugs from my father

Kisses from my mother

Piggy back rides for my sisters

One-on-one games with my brother

I am loved

Sunny Wilderness

Surrounded by smiling Jessamine

And the soft fragrance of fresh leaves…

The sunshine on my back…

I am thankful

Lost in Darkness

Lost in the darkness of night

My surroundings as blank as a page

Everything is out of my sight

The moon grows in darkness of age

Yet I still have some light

Almost as bright as day

Jesus is always with me

Helping me find my way

Farmer Wannabe

Tripping through my garden,

Tomatoes overflow--

Some up high in greens and reds

And others fallen low.

I crouch to check a pepper

To see how it is doing

But when I let the plant stems go

Into my face they SPROING!

I’d like to be a farmer

And all our vittles grow

But first I think I’d better learn

The things that farmers know.

The Night Sky

I stand there silent in the night

With the earth beneath my feet

Looking straight up in the sky

With nobody there beside me

The stars glisten bright in the sky

But there’s just one thing that I seek

It’s big and bright and not out of sight

It’s the moon that I find every week
